Anthropic Files for IPO as Crypto Traders Price It Near $1.9T

No Anthropic Stock Exists, but Crypto Traders Just Priced It at $2T

Key Takeaways

Anthropic Targets Nasdaq Under ANT Ticker

The prominent AI company Anthropic, the firm behind Claude, filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), formally advancing its proposed initial public offering (IPO). The company plans to list Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker ANT, although its share count, offering price, and final valuation remain undecided.

“Today, Anthropic, PBC filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission relating to its proposed initial public offering of its Class A common stock,” the company announced.

Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are identified as contacts for obtaining the preliminary prospectus. Anthropic also cautioned that its registration statement hasn’t become effective, meaning securities cannot yet be sold nor can purchase offers be accepted.

Crypto Derivatives Price Anthropic Near $1.87 Trillion

Interestingly, cryptocurrency traders are already putting enormous numbers on a company whose public offering price hasn’t been established. For instance, synthetic perpetual futures linked to Anthropic traded around an implied $1.86 trillion to $1.88 trillion valuation across Binance, Bitget, and other exchanges on Oct. 25-26. Binance contracts hovered near $1,874, using an assumed share count of approximately 1 billion.

Defillama’s aggregated pre-IPO estimate stood lower at $1.61 trillion, creating a roughly $260 billion gap against the $1.87 trillion derivatives benchmark. Neither figure represents an official equity valuation. These instruments provide speculative exposure, not actual Anthropic shares, and their calculations depend on assumptions that can differ between trading venues.

For perspective, Defillama lists Anthropic’s May 28 financing at a $965 billion valuation, meaning the derivatives benchmark approaches twice that earlier private-market figure.

Polymarket Traders Favor a Trillion-Dollar Debut

Prediction market Polymarket presents another extraordinary picture. Polymarket’s Anthropic IPO closing market capitalization contracts accumulated approximately $2.43 million in trading volume, with the $1.75 trillion to $2 trillion bracket leading at 26% probability. The $2 trillion to $2.25 trillion bracket followed at 21%, while the $1.5 trillion to $1.75 trillion range attracted nearly 17%. Together, those three outcomes accounted for approximately 64% of implied probability.

Polymarket wager on Anthropic’s IPO closing market cap on Oct. 26, 2026 at 10 a.m. Eastern time.

Traders assigned just 4% to Anthropic failing to complete its IPO by Dec. 31, 2027, the market’s resolution deadline. The contracts settle against Anthropic’s actual first-day closing market capitalization, calculated using its official listing price and shares outstanding. The contradiction is striking. Anthropic hasn’t disclosed how much stock it intends to sell or what investors will pay, yet speculative markets are already debating on which side of $2 trillion its first trading day might finish.
