On January 20th, 2025, Donald Trump took the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States, marking a historic moment in American politics. Following the ceremonial oath, Trump delivered his inaugural address, setting the tone for his second term in office.

In a surprising change due to dangerously low temperatures, Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance took their oaths inside the Capitol’s Rotunda—marking only the third time in history the swearing-in ceremony has been held indoors. This change also affects the inaugural address, which will be delivered inside.
Although the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, where the president typically greets supporters, has been canceled due to weather conditions, Trump’s inaugural activities will continue indoors. The parade participants will be relocated and Trump is expected to make an appearance and possibly address the crowd.
